On September 23-24 The Sculpture and Stained Glass Center invites you to an art festival! This is the fourth time that the art festival has been held, and the two-day program will offer visitors to participate in creative workshops, visit exhibitions, see various artistic activities and performances by the center's artists-in-residence as well as open studios and tours of them, and of course - a music stage with live performances.
The historic building opens with an extensive festival program
This year, the Sculpture and Stained Glass Center Art Festival has expanded to two days, so visitors can expect an even wider program than the last year. The aim of the art festival is to introduce Vilnius residents and city guests to the Sculpture and Stained Glass Center, its history, the artists residing here, as well as give visitors the opportunity to join the whirlwind of culture and immerse themselves in the creative processes of art for two days. Festival participants will be able to watch various performances by sculptors: ice sculpture carving, stone splitting in ancient methods, aluminum sculpture casting, video performances. The most active ones will be able to get involved in the art creation process by participating in the organized creative workshops: painting, graphics, drawing, marble forging, and graffiti classes for children. Art lovers and professionals will be able to participate in the presentation of stained glass art, visit sculpture, stained glass, graphics and painting exhibitions in the outdoor and indoor spaces of the Sculpture and Stained Glass Center. Throughout the festival, there will be guided tours of the Sculpture and Stained Glass Center artists' studios, which will give you the opportunity to get to know the works of the authors residing here. The visual arts at the festival will be complemented by a music stage and performances by Lithuanian bands and DJs, and of course, the festival will traditionally be crowned with a fire sculpture dedicated to the autumnal equinox.
The most famous Lithuanian artists will participate in the presented exhibitions and will open their studios
Over 30 well-known Lithuanian artists currently reside in the Sculpture and Stained Glass Center, whose works will be displayed in exhibitions, and it will also be possible to have a closer conversation with the authors by visiting their open studios. These sculptors are Kęstutis Musteikis, Gediminas Piekuras, Aušra Jasiukevičiūtė, Tauras Kensmins, Mykolas Sauka, Algirdas Kuzma, Jonas Aničas, Žilvinas Landzbergas, Kazys Venclovas, Asta Vasiliauskaitė, Liutauras Griežė, Gintaras Mykolaitis, Mindaugas Šnipas, Marius Zavadskis, Daumantas Kučas, Vidas Simanavičius, also stained glass and glass artists - Dalia Truskaitė, Edita Utarienė, graphic artist Jonas Čepas, creator of interdisciplinary art Eglė Pilkauskaitė, painters Simonas Kuliešis and Vytautas Vasiliūnas. The works of stained glass classics Konstantinas Šatūnas, Bronius Bružas, Irena Lipienė, artists Eglė Rakauskaitė, Rūta Lipaitė, Ignas Meidus, Nerijus Baublys and Edita Utarienė are scheduled to be exhibited at the stained glass art exhibition.
The visual arts will be complemented by a music stage
The art festival covers not only visual arts and education, participants will also be able to see live performances by Lithuanian artists and celebrate the autumn equinox by listening to rock and electronic music. In the music program: Lapkričio dvidešimtosios orkestras, Masė, Žygymantas Kudirka and Marijus Klimaitis, Vladas Dieninis, Mielas merginos, Sinage, DJs Paul Sadness, Dalius Travinas (Start.FM), Kevin Mancuso, Švenčionis will spin the records.
