The Sculpture and Stained Glass Center invites you to the fifth Art Festival!
On July 29th, The Sculpture and Stained Glass Center invites you to the fifth Art Festival! The festival program will include creative workshops, exhibitions, various artistic activities, performances by artists residing in the center, open studios and tours of them, and a music stage with live performances.
This year's Art Festival is the closing event of the Quadrennial of Contemporary Art. At its center is the Community Presentation of the Sculpture and Stained Glass Center
This year's Art Festival of the Sculpture and Stained Glass Center is the closing event of the 5th Lithuanian Contemporary Art Quadrennial "LTQ'23: Communities". The latter is dedicated to communities of artists, so the presentation of the community of sculptors and monumental art creators residing in the Sculpture and Stained Glass Center is at the heart of the Art Festival. During the festival, artists will open their studios and allow visitors to get to know the creative behind-the-scenes, tours will be conducted as well. Participants will also be able to get involved in artistic processes themselves by taking part in educational workshops: clay sculpting, graphics, drawing, stone forging, painting, and a graffiti class specially designed for children. Visitors of the festival will be able to observe the work of sculptors in the process of casting aluminum sculptures and see freshly "baked" works, as well as watch the artists' performances. In the sculpture garden, the sculptures of artists residing in the center will be presented, as well as the presentation of Lithuanian stained glass art. Visual arts at the festival will be complemented by a music stage and performances by Lithuanian artists, groups and DJs, and traditionally, the festival will be crowned with a fire sculpture.
Famous Lithuanian artists will present themselves at the exhibitions and open their studios
Over 30 well-known Lithuanian artists currently reside in the Sculpture and Stained Glass Center, whose works will be displayed in exhibitions, and it will also be possible to have a closer conversation with the artists by visiting their open studios. Sculptors, painters and various artists will present themselves at the festival: Jonas Aničas, Rytas Jonas Belevičius, Jonas Čepas, Jonas Gelčys, Liutauras Griežė, Aušra Jasiukevičiūtė, Mindaugas Junčys, Lina Kalinauskaitė, Algis Kasparavičius, Tauras Kensminas, Daumantas Kučas, Žilvinas Landzbergas, Artūras Makštutis, Gintaras Mikolaitis, Kęstutis Musteikis, Eglė Pilkauskaitė, Mykolas Sauka, Vida Sevrukienė, Vidas Simanavičius, Mindaugas Šnipas, Rytis Urbanskas, Asta Vasiliauskaitė, Kazys Venclovas, Marius Zavadskis; as well as stained glass and glass artists: Saulius Ercmonas, Dalia Truskaitė, Edita Utarienė.
The festival's music stage will feature live performances by artists, bands and DJs
The Art Festival will cover not only visual arts and education, participants will also be able to see live performances by Lithuanian artists. On the festival stage, the interdisciplinary art creator Simonas Nekrošius will perform the sound performance, and the synthesizer musical performance will be held by "Super Analogic", groups "Keista Bjauri Žuvis", "Mielos merginos," will perform live, DJs Paul Sadness and DJ Belzė will spin records.
The art festival will be held on July 29, in the Sculpture and Stained Glass Center (Darius ir Girėno st. 25, Vilnius).
The festival starts at 12:00. The entry is free.
